Iowans will be reading about the Iowa Polio Epidemic when the participate in the All Iowa Reads books selection for 2007.

Anyone who remembers the polio of the 1950s, or knows of someone who was affected by it, will be interested in the 2007 All Iowa Reads selection, Splendid Solutions: Jonas Salk and the Conquest of Polio by Jeffery Kluger. April 2005 marked the 50th anniversary of the announcement that Jonas Salk's polio vaccine was considered safe and effective. In addition to discussing the book, Iowans can rell their stories about the epidemic and read stories that have been submitted by other iowans.
